a poem I wrote on the way to Manchester from Copenhagen in 1999 ...
Write Write Write
Tell the world your plight!
In every fading evening light
And every dark or starry night
As every weary cricket sighs
Write of every dark delight
To every baby's waking cry
In every morning breaking light
For every ray of warm sunshine
Write of all stupendous sight
In blinding afternoon sunlight
As grass of thirst begins to die
Under shady tree you sleepy lie
With dreams of many years gone by
And when you find yourself inside
Sitting up, starting to smile
Smiling wide
pick up your pen and
Write write write
Tell the world your plight!

I am in awe of the symmetry and the synchronicity of this poem. A Harvard don might laugh at my foolish comment, but what can I say - I know what I like, and I like it.
