gritty, gritty, great
I have been watching Cracker, the BBC crime drama recently. It is gritty and gripping and watching it takes me through emotional highs and lows and puts forward some very interesting questions about human nature. I also think the thrill I get watching it is distinctly voyeuristic. This is because it is so damn realistic is its portrayal of human vices and fallibility (I don't know about how the police operate) that I feel like I'm eavesdropping, spying, on flawed people investigating and outing other slightly more deeply flawed people. The portrayal of evil is very very chilling.

Well HB,
Very chuffed to see that you are still writing a blog. To celebrate my find, I will comment on all posts (at least on the front page)

PS, Cracker, yes, it's gritty stuff. However, I did prefer it with the great Robbie Coltrane in the starring role. . . let it not be said that Scottish actors are chosen for their good looks!
I haven't seen the American version. I was referring to the British version. I have to say that Geraldine Somerville is very pretty. About the Scots- yes, but what of the great Sean Connery?
He never lost his accent even when playing a rich young yank in Marnie.
